Introduction
to Training Ship Battleaxe of the Sea Cadet Corps
What are the Sea Cadets?
Simply the best - that's the Sea Cadets! The number one youth organisation based on the Royal Navy. Right here at Thornbury Unit you can take part in action packed programme including sailing, navigation, rowing, camping, canoeing and expedition training. You'll make new friends and be part of a great team!

What do we aim to do?
Give you the best fun you've ever had - with a serious side too. Along the way we'll teach you life skills from first aid to map work, engineering and the art of seamanship. Much of the training is practical and on outdoors! A great way to spend your free time!
Get Fit the Fun way!
Fit for life! There are sports and outdoor activities to get involved in and you will be able to impress your friends with newfound skills, make new shipmates and put your talents to the test. There are plenty of opportunities to go away on courses, learn how to dive or windsurf, take a trip on a Royal Navy ship or sail before the mast aboard the Sea Cadet square rigged flagship T.S Royalist. With over 400 units around the UK, you will get a chance to see other parts of the country and learn new skills on specialist courses at our training centres.

What is TS Battleaxe?
TS Battleaxe is the local Unit of the Sea Cadets, right here in Thornbury! It is a unit known for being busy with lots of activities and being friendly.
So if you find computer games and TV boring and want something a little more interesting and exciting, then get in touch and come down.
